
Mississippi's Gauvreau Named InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Mississippi center Brent Gauvreau is the InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for November 3-9.
The 6-3 and 210-pound Gauvreau had a game-winning goal, a power-play goal and five points as Mississippi went 1-0-1 and remained in third place in the Southern Division, tied with Pensacola and one point behind second-place Louisiana. The 23-year-old Gauvreau tied the game with a power-play goal in the second period and assisted on the game-tying goal with less than a minute to play in the third period of a 3-2 shootout loss to Louisiana on Friday. On Sunday, Gauvreau scored the game-winning goal and had two assists in the Sea Wolves 9-4 win over Fresno.
Selected by Calgary in the fifth round (120th overall) in the 1998 National Hockey League Entry Draft and by Phoenix in the sixth round (186th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Gauvreau was +4 for the week raising his plus/minus to +10, tying him for the team lead and for third in the ECHL. He leads the Sea Wolves with 10 assists and ranks third on the team with 13 points.
In 2002-03, Gauvreau scored seven points (4g-3a) in 18 regular season games with Augusta, and scored 42 points (18g-24a) in 49 regular season games and two points (1g-1a) in one game in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with Jackson.
