Condors Will Celebrate Millionth Fan On Friday

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors will host the San Diego Gulls on Friday night, November 14th, on a night of celebration for the team's one-millionth fan. Game time is 7:00pm and the doors will open at 6:00pm.

The Condors have never drawn less than 161,000 fans in any of their five previous years at Centennial Garden and have eclipsed the 200,000-fan mark three times. All the team's history formerly in the West Coast Hockey League, only San Diego has outdrawn the Condors since their inception in 1998.

This Friday, the Millionth Condors Fan will enter the Garden have a special night. He or she will be invited along with their party to enjoy the night's activity from the Condors special suite, with complimentary food and beverages. They will also participate in the "Pick Your Spot Shot" intermission contest, sponsored by Bakersfield Mitsubishi/Golden State Motors. The participant will have two shots to win a brand new car. If the first shot is made, the prize is $100; if they make both shots, they will win the car. After that, they'll have the option of either taking the car, or taking a third shot for a $1 million cash prize.

The Millionth Fan will also win 1,000,000 seconds of Condors hockey – four season tickets to the Condors for the remainder of the season. They will also win the use of a luxury rental car for one week, courtesy of National Car Rental at the airport, and four free tickets to the upcoming WWE event at Centennial Garden on November 30th.

Friday's game is also Team Poster Night, sponsored by Bright House Networks, KERN 1410 and SBC Smart Yellow Pages. Everyone in attendance will receive this full color print featuring all members of the 2003-04 squad. Friday's match is the first Kids' Club Night. Bright House Networks, the Bakersfield Californian, Cold Stone Creamery and Kern Schools Federal Credit Union sponsor the Kids' Club, which gives members free admission to six weekend home games and other cool prizes. To register your child for the Kids' Club, contact the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825). It's also Bright House Networks Family Night, in which all subscribers can receive $5 terrace admission by presenting the coupon included in their recent cable bill.

On Sunday, the Condors will head to Fresno for the opening of the brand new Save Mart Center. It's the first hockey game in the new building. The game can be heard on KGEO AM 1230 and live online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com. The puck will drop at 5:00pm, with the "Condors Countdown" pregame show starting at 4:45pm.

The Condors will be talking hockey on KGEO this Thursday, with "The Condors Coach's Show", live from the Holiday Inn Select. Join Head Coach Paul Kelly and the "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl every Thursday night for the live broadcast and enjoy drink specials, meet the players, and win great Condors prizes. This week's guest will be RW Denis Ladouceur.

Individual seats may be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday, with extended hours on gamedays.
