Allen (10) launched a solo homer off Michael McGreevy (5-1) in the second inning over the right field bleachers, slicing the Memphis lead in half.

To open the third, Ivan Herrera drew a walk and stole second. After two consecutive flyouts, Taylor Motter hit a two-run shot to extend the Redbirds lead, 4-1.

Jacksonville tacked on a run in the fifth. Back-to-back base knocks by C.J. Hinojosa and Jake Mangum put runners on the corners for Xavier Edwards, who laced a single to bring in Hinojosa and make it 4-2.

Motter (8) hit a solo shot in the eight frame to increase the Redbirds lead, 5-2.

After a single from Hinojosa, Mangum sliced a double down the first baseline, sending Hinojosa to third. Hinojosa scored on a fielder's choice to close the game out at 5-3.
