Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, return home following a three-game swing in Florida which concluded their season-long six-game road stretch to face the Wheeling Nailers and Adirondack Thunder at First Arena before heading back out on the road to face-off against the Manchester Monarchs.

2/17 vs. Wheeling Nailers - 7:05 p.m. EST
Home vs. WHL 1-1-0, Away vs. WHL 1-0-0
On Wednesday night the Jackals welcome the Wheeling Nailers for the fourth of six meetings this season and the third and final matchup at First Arena. Elmira has taken two of the first three contests this season with both wins coming in the shootout. In the last outing, the Jackals rode their power-play coming back from a two-goal deficit with three straight power-play goals. Tyler Currier scored twice and Chris Langkow added a goal as well. Cason Hohmann and Mike Seidel scored in the shootout to propel the Jackals to a 4-3 victory. C.J. Motte came in for Alex Vazzano and stopped 35 of 36 shots faced and three of four shootout attempts to earn the win. The night before, Wheeling defeated Elmira 4-1. In the season's first meeting, the Jackals traveled to WesBanco Arena and rode Niklas Lundstrom's 42 saves to a 3-2 shootout win. Lundstrom also stopped both shootout attempts he faced. Jacob MacDonald scored a shorthanded goal and Tyler Currier scored an even-strength tally. Colin Jacobs and Justin Bernhardt scored in the shootout. Elmira is 43-33-11 all-time against Wheeling.
2/19 vs. Adirondack Thunder - 7:05 p.m. EST; 2/20 vs. Adirondack Thunder - 7:05 p.m. EST
Home vs. ADK 1-2-0, Away vs. ADK 2-1-0
The Jackals host their in-state rival for two games on Friday and Saturday night. This weekend's meetings mark the seventh and eighth of 11 overall this season and the fourth and fifth of six at First Arena. Elmira exploded for eight goals last Tuesday in Glens Falls, tying a season-high for goals scored in a single game and setting a new mark for their winning margin. Eleven different Jackals registered at least one point including multi-point games for Chris Langkow, Allan McPherson, Tyler Currier, Zach Cohen, Jacob MacDonald, and Justin Bernhardt, while C.J. Motte turned aside all 28 Thunder shots to earn his second shutout of the season. The Jackals' shutout win was the second straight shutout in the season series, however, the Thunder were victorious in the previous meeting, 1-0. Kent Simpson out-dueled Alex Vazzano in a goaltending exhibition as the Thunder were in the midst of their ECHL record-setting shutout streak. The Jackals are 3-3-0 against Adirondack since the Thunder joined the ECHL prior to the start of this season.
2/21 at Manchester Monarchs - 3:00 p.m. EST
Home vs. MAN 1-3-0, Away vs. MAN 2-1-0
The Jackals head back out on the road for a Sunday afternoon affair against the Manchester Monarchs. Elmira opened its season-long six-game road stretch in New Hampshire with a weekend split against the East Division leading Monarchs. In the last meeting, Allan McPherson recorded his first career hat trick in a four-point effort leading the Jackals past Manchester on Super Bowl Sunday, 5-4. The line of McPherson, Cason Hohmann and Chris Langkow was responsible for all five Jackals' goals en route to the victory. Chris Langkow recorded a goal and two assists and Cason Hohmann posted a goal and an assist to extend his point streak to nine games. Alex Vazzano made 34 saves and earned his first career ECHL win. Elmira is 2-1-0 at Verizon Wireless Arena this season and is 3-4-0 against Manchester which joined the ECHL this offseason. Allan McPherson leads the Jackals against the Monarchs with five goals and six points.

2/12 at Florida Everblades: SOL 1-2
C.J. Motte and the Elmira Jackals were 96 seconds away from their second consecutive shutout when Justin Agosta scored the tying goal sending the game to extra time and an eventual shootout win for the Everblades. Allan McPherson scored for the fourth consecutive game and Chris Langkow extended his point streak but the Jackals fell 2-1. For the full recap...click here.
2/13 at Florida Everblades: L 2-4
Justin Bernhardt scored for the first time since returning from an injury and Kyle Bushee recorded his second power-play goal in the last three games but the Elmira Jackals were edged by the Florida Everblades, 4-2. C.J. Motte made 24 stops but was handed the loss. For the full recap...click here.
2/14 at Orlando Solar Bears: OTL 3-4
The Elmira Jackals clawed back from deficits on three occasions on Sunday night at the Amway Center against the Orlando Solar Bears forcing the game into overtime and securing a point but were outdone in the end by Eric Baier's overtime game-winner. For the full recap...click here.
