DE GRAY DELIVERS DECIDING GOAL

John de Gray's third-period goal in Elmira's 5-3 comeback victory against South Carolina last night was his second in four games and his first-game winning goal of the season. The game-winning tally was the third for de Gray as a pro. Last season with Bakersfield, he had two game-deciding goals in October.

DISCIPLINED HOCKEY

Over the last four games, the Jackals have been short handed just nine times and had to kill off only one penalty last night. Through 12 games last season, Elmira had taken 82 minor penalties. 12 games into 2010-2011, the Jackals have just 58 minor infractions, for an average of 4.83 per game. Only Alaska's 4.4 minor penalties per contest beats Elmira's low average this season.
