It's a Sell Out! Devil Rays announce first in multiple seasons
June 7, 2005 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays have sealed the fate of the team's General Manager with the first hard sellout of the season. 5,489 tickets have been sold for the upcoming Saturday, June 11, game against West Michigan at 7:05 p.m.
Based on a statement released last Friday, June 3, GM Martie Cordaro will go under the razor to celebrate the Devil Rays first hard sellout in multiple seasons. The franchise's day-by-day attendance figures are sketchy, but no total of more than 6,000 in the stadium at one time exists since 6,452 attended a game on June 24, 2000.
"Excited! That word sums up our outlook and attitude as an organization," Cordaro said. " Apparently, this word shows the enthusiasm of the fans for baseball in Southwest Michigan, as well."
C.O. Brown Stadium's seating capacity was changed before the beginning of the 2005 season after the removal of right field bleacher seats and a seat-by-seat recounting. With the reconfiguration of C.O. Brown Stadium, the official seating capacity is now 4,701.
If you do not have your tickets to see Cordaro get his head shaved on June 11, there are extremely limited box seats remaining. Tickets are available by calling 269-660-2287 or by visiting the team's web site at southwestmichigandevilrays.com.
