June 25, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Catcher John Baker drew a bases loaded walk in the ninth inning as the Isotopes (43-26) walked off against the Express (45-34) 10-9 in a slugfest at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque picked up a game in the American Southern Division standings and trails first place Round Rock by two games.
Chili Buss recorded six RBI and leads all Isotopes hitters with 15 multi-RBI games. Buss also legged out two triples and blasted a homer in the game and leads the club in both categories with eight and 11 respectively. He is the first Isotope in 2013 to triple twice in a game and he took over third place for most triples in the Pacific Coast League. His second triple was part of a three-run seventh as the Isotopes tied the score for a fourth time, 9-9.
Centerfielder Matt Kemp doubled for the second consecutive night, making his third rehab start. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored including one in the third on Alex Castellanos' third triple of the year.
Scott Van Slyke continued his rehab assignment going 1-for-4 from the dish. He scored a run and doubled in the seventh inning hitting a two bagger in two straight nights.
Round Rock jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Isotopes responded in their half of the first. Designated hitter, Buss, drove Kemp and Dee Gordon in on a triple.
Second baseman Elevys Gonzalez went deep for the second time in as many nights tying the game at three in the second. He has hit safely in six consecutive games.
Jonathan Sanchez made his first start as an Isotope and first since April 29 against Milwaukee while with Pittsburgh. The southpaw went three innings allowing six runs on seven hits walking one and fanning three.
Anthony Ortega tossed 2.2 innings out of the pen surrendering three runs on three hits. Lefty Geison Aguasviva compiled 1.2 innings surrendering three hits. He allowed two inherited runners to score. Jose Dominguez (1-0, 0.00) threw 1.2 scoreless innings earning the win, his first at Triple-A. He has not allowed a run as an Isotope in seven appearances (8.1 IP).
Nate Robertson (2-3, 3.31) took the loss for Round Rock allowing four runs on four hits in 2.1 innings. The Isotopes and Express close out their four-game series tomorrow, June 25 with the first pitch at 12:05 PM MDT. Southpaw Aaron Laffey (3-3. 5.84) is slated to take the hill for Albuquerque against Round Rock's lefty Ryan Feierabend (4-2, 4.18).
