Reno Aces News Release

Reno, Nev.-The Aces posted five runs in Tuesday afternoon's series finale against the Padres, but it was not enough, as Reno fell 6-5.

Reno fell to an early 3-0 deficit, but a three-run fourth tangled the game at three. In his first game with the Aces, infielder Josh Wilson went 2-for-3, including a two-RBI single that contributed to the three-run fourth.

The Padres tacked on three more runs across the sixth and seventh to take a commanding 6-3 lead. Back-to-back doubles and a sacrifice fly gave Reno a pair of runs in the seventh, but the comeback threat ended there.

In his second game of a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment with the Aces, D-backs infielder Eric Chavez went 2-for-3.

D-backs RHP J.J. Putz began the game for Reno, in continuation of his rehab assignment, throwing a scoreless first inning. He allowed one walk but no hits. RHP Charles Brewer came on in relief of Putz, and gave up four runs on six hits through 5.0 innings, while striking out five.

The Aces now travel to Sacramento for a four-game series against the River Cats. RHP Nate Adcock (4-4, 7.55 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the River Cats will counter with RHP Sonny Gray (7-5, 2.85 ERA). First pitch is set for7:05 p.m. at Raley Field and all of the action can be heard at KPLY 630 AM.
