Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Albuquerque (30-27) took game two of the series from Oklahoma City (31-24) 4-2 behind a stellar performance by Matt Palmer and a go-ahead two run homer in the sixth by right fielder Jeremy Moore. Moore went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run.

Palmer (2-3, 4.73) was touched up for two first-inning runs on a Brandon Laird home run, but settled in to hold the RedHawks scoreless over the next six frames in his best outing of the season. The righty fired seven innings, striking out a season-high eight batters earning the win. He allowed five hits, a homer and a walk.

Righty Javy Guerra pitched two scoreless innings in his first game back with the Isotopes after being optioned by the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 31. He earned his first save of the season, allowing two hits while striking out a batter.

The Isotopes responded to Laird's first inning home run in the bottom half of the frame on centerfielder Chili Buss' (1-for-2, 2RBI, 2B, BB) eighth double of the season. Elian Herrera, who singled, scored on the play.

Buss drove in his second run of the game on a sacrifice fly to score shortstop Dee Gordon (1-for-2, R, 2B, 2 BB) in the second inning, tying the game at two. Gordon doubled in the inning for the 10th time this year, tying the 2013 team lead.

Left fielder Matt Angle tied Buss for the club lead in triples with his fourth three bagger of the season in the fourth. After two scoreless innings by both sides, Moore blasted a two-run shot for his first home run as an Isotope. His long ball gave Albuquerque their first lead of the game and turned out to be the deciding runs.

Ross Seaton (5-3, 7.60) suffered the loss for Oklahoma City. The righty allowed four runs on seven hits.
