Iowa Energy Acquire Jarvis Varnado

DES MOINES, IA, November 1, 2013 - The Iowa Energy announced today that the team has acquired center Jarvis Varnado and a 2014 8th round pick in exchange for the third and 39th overall picks in tonight's NBA Development League Draft and second round pick in the 2014 NBA D-League Draft from the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Varnado was part of the Miami Heat's championship team last season. He averaged 14.5 points and 9.9 rebounds in 23 games with Sioux Falls last season.
The Energy will host their annual draft party tonight at El Bait Shop (200 SW 2nd St) beginning at 5:30PM. The 2013 NBA D-League Draft will begin at 6.
Iowa Energy season tickets are now on sale for the 2013-14 season. The Energy will host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in its opening day game on Sunday, December 8 at 4 PM. The newest NBA D-League team, the Delaware 87ers, will be the opponent for the opening night game on Saturday, December 14 at 7PM.
