Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

The force was not on the Isotopes side on Star Wars Night at Isotopes Park as the Reno Aces defeated Albuquerque 4-1. The Aces have now taken the first two games of the four-game set from the Isotopes.

Albuquerque starter Matt Flemer pitched a strong game, recording his third quality start of the year for the Isotopes. The right-hander tossed 6.0 innings while allowing three runs on five hits. The long ball was Flemer's undoing, as two Reno home runs resulted in the only runs scored against the 25-year-old.

The lone run of the game for the Isotopes came in the seventh inning when catcher Tom Murphy came around to score on shortstop Jeff Bianchi's fielder's choice.

Reliever Ryan Carpenter pitched a scoreless inning for the Isotopes while Simon Castro allowed one run over his two innings on the hill out of the bullpen.

The Isotopes and Aces are back in action tomorrow evening from Isotopes Park. Right-hander Jeff Hoffman (4-4, 3.62) takes the hill for the Isotopes. He will be opposed by Reno's Matt Buschmann (2-6, 5.68). First pitch from Isotopes Park is set for 6:05 p.m. following a Father's Day pre-game catch on the field from 5:00-5:30 p.m.
