NASHVILLE, Tennessee - The Nashville Sounds (42-27) spoiled a quality start by RHP Kyle Lohse (2-4, 5.09) with a 3-2 win over the Round Rock Express (36-31) Saturday night at First Tennessee Park. Lohse suffered the loss despite holding the Sounds to just three runs on four hits over seven solid innings on the mound. The righty struck out three and walked two.

Nashville RHP Aaron Kurcz (3-0, 2.66) earned the win after limiting Round Rock to only one hit and one walk while striking out four in three innings of relief. Kurcz entered in the fourth inning after starter RHP Henderson Alvarez was removed with an apparent injury in his first rehab start with the team.

Round Rock sprinted out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning as RF Jared Hoying collected a leadoff double before 3B Drew Robinson launched his 10th home run of the year, a towering shot to right field that extended his hitting streak to nine consecutive games. The longball also moved Robinson into a tie with Hoying for most runs batted in on the team with 35.

In front of a sold out home crowd, the Sounds knotted the contest at two in the bottom of the inning. 1B Ryon Healy slapped a one-out single into left field before RF Matt Olson followed up with a walk. Two hitters later, LF Matt McBride cleared the bases with a line drive double to left, evening the score at 2-2.

Lohse recovered to allow just two baserunners - a walk and a single - over the next three innings. However, DH Chad Pinder connected on Lohse's first pitch of the sixth, sending the offering well over the wall in deep left field to give his team their first advantage of the night at 3-2.

The E-Train threatened in the seventh and eighth innings, putting two runners on in each frame, however the Sounds were able to escape both instances with no damage done. With the win, Nashville increases their lead in the Southern Division to five games.

The two teams will face off in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon to make up for a rained out contest from June 3. Game one is scheduled to feature Express LHP Andrew Faulkner (3-0, 8.78) against Sounds RHP Jesse Hahn (1-2, 2.57). The second game of the day is slated to pit RHP Richelson Pena (0-0, 7.71) of Round Rock up against RHP Angel Castro (0-3, 5.83) of Nashville. The twin bill is set to start at 1:05 p.m. with game two beginning approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one. The Express will return home on Saturday, June 25 to face the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
