Idaho Gets One Back on Utah

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-0 Friday night in Boise as Idaho scored four of six goals on special teams.

Utah will go for three of four wins on the week and two of three in the series Saturday in Idaho, face-off is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

Idaho took a 1-0 lead 1:37 into the contest and that score would hold until 14:49 into the period, but Utah, despite getting eight of 12 shots at one point in that stretch was unable to tie.

The Steelheads then started a stretch of three-straight power-play goals to make it 4-0 before a puck went off of a Utah skater and in to make it 5-0

with 4:34 left in the third period.

Idaho added one shorthanded goal in the third period to cap off the scoring.

Utah outshot Idaho 36-35 in the game, but again was stifled by Idaho goaltender Josh Robinson, who shutout Utah for the second time in three games against them.

Earlier Friday, defenseman Nick Tuzzolino was recalled to Abbotsford of the AHL. Tuzzolino had four goals and 26 assists for 30 points in 36 games this year for the Grizzlies.

Utah competed with eight forwards and five defensemen in the game as they continue to battle through injuries. Forwards Colin Vock and Riley Armstrong are day-to-day and hopeful to return Saturday. Mark Isherwood returned to the Utah lineup after ten-straight games injured.

Utah continues in Idaho Saturday with the Steelheads. Face-off is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

Utah returns home for a Wild $2 Wednesday on March 6 when they will host Gwinnett. There will be $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Fries, $2 Soft Drinks, $2 Draft Beers and $5 Student Tickets available to students with ID at the arena box office.

The Grizzlies host Colorado Friday, March 8; Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10.
