Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, SC: A record crowd of 7,529 entered the Century BMW Rink at the BI-LO center as the Road Warriors fell to the Elmira Jackals 5-2.

The first period did not bring any goals but T.J. Reynolds and Kevin Harvey got into a scramble halfway through the period. Neither player was able to land any punches but both were given a five minute fighting major. The Jackals outshot the Road Warriors 13-6 in the first period.

Elmira began the second period with two quick goals in the first five minutes. Rob Bellamy scored the first Jackals goal of the night with his 15th of the year. Andrew Rowe brought Elmira's lead to 2-0 with a backhander that beat Connor Knapp short side. Rowe's 21st of the year was assisted by Kyle Bushee who broke up a play in the defensive zone to lead to the goal. Elmira outshot the Road Warriors 17-9 in the second period.

Greenville began the third period in the manner the Jackals started the second. T.J. Reynolds scored the first of two quick goals for the Road Warriors with a slap shot from the point. Tyler Fernandez and Ryan Flanigan assisted on Reynolds' second of the year. Just 2:03 later, Brandon Wong scored his 23rd of the year on the power play to tie the game at two. Wong found a loose puck in the crease after a slap shot from Ryan Flanigan was left uncovered. Elmira would strike back for two goals in a matter of 1:59. Kevin Harvey scored his ninth of the year on a rebound and Rowe scored his second of the game; once again a backhander over Knapp's glove. Elmira's defenseman Cameron Cooper finished off the scoring with his first professional goal on a slap shot from the point that rang off the post and went into the net. Ian Keserich saved 24 of 26 shots for the win and Knapp took the loss with 37 saves.
