Trenton Titans News Release

Last Meeting

March 1, 2013 - It was another tight, well-played contest between the Atlantic Division foes, with this one going to a shootout. Scott Wedgewood (33 saves) and Wheeling's Scott Darling (34 saves) were brilliant and perfect through seven rounds, but Connor Goggin's first professional shootout goal in Round Eight was the difference in a 3-2 (1-0 SO) Titans win.

Next Meeting

The teams will meet next time in Trenton with a 7:05 pm tilt scheduled for Friday March 8.

Record (Home/Away); Streaks

Wheeling: 23-23-3-756 points (17-6-1-4 Home, 2-7-0-2 in last 11 overall) - have lost the last five at home and lead the league with 12 decisions by Shootout (5-7). Trenton: 23-27-4-454 points (10-15-2-2 Road, 5-4-1-1- overall last 11). Titans are 5-6 in their last 11 on the Road.

Finally Cheering In Wheeling

The Titans win in WV was their first since December 3, 2001. They had gone 0-4-1 at WesBanco since then and are 3-5-2 in Wheeling since the start of last season. After tonight, Trenton has one more game in Wheeling, finishing the regular season on March 30.

Rare Power

Brian Haczyk's PPG to start last night's game is a rare occurrence in these meetings. Trenton is just 2-for-24 (8.3%) in six games this year. That is the lowest conversion rate for the Titans against any of their 15 opponents this year. Toledo - Trenton's next opponent - is second at 9.1% (1-for-11).

Wheeling scored once as well, but its 1-for-5 now has the Nailers just 3-for-26 (11.5%) against the Titans.
