
Ice Pilots Lose to Florida

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots lost to the Florida Everblades 6-1 on Tuesday night at the Pensacola Civic Center. The loss dropped the Ice Pilots record to 11-16-3 for 25 points and Florida improved their record to 20-8-2 for 42 points.
Ernie Hartlieb started the scoring for the Everblades slapping a shot from inside the blue line by Ice Pilots goalie Todd Ford at the 10:59 mark of the first period to give Florida a 1-0 lead. Paul Cabana would score at the 12:55 mark of the first period to put Florida on top 2-0.
Ice Pilots defenseman Corey Neilson passed the puck from deep in his own end to forward Brendan Cook who got by the Florida defense. Cook put a move on Florida goalie Phil Osaer and scored for the Ice Pilots at the 15:50 mark to make it a 2-1 game in favor of Florida after the first period.
Florida would get two power play goals ! in the second period by Paul Cabana and Steve Saviano to take a 4-1 lead after two periods. Jonathan Lehun would score a shorthanded goal for the Everblades at the 10:09 mark of the third period and Paul Cabana would score his third goal of the game at the 14:09 mark to help give Florida a 6-1 win.
The Ice Pilots had 42 shots on goal, 18 penalty minutes and went 0-6 on the power play. Florida had 44 shots on goal, 16 penalty minutes and went 2-6 on the power play. Todd Ford was the losing goalie for the Ice Pilots and Phil Osaer picked up the win in goal for Florida.
The Ice Pilots will host the Gwinnett Gladiators on Friday night at the Pensacola Civic Center at 7:05 p.m. Every fan attending the game will receive an Ice Pilots team photo.
