Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ice Dogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Kevin Kaminski, announced today the team has acquired forward Martin Paquet from the Dayton Bombers for cash considerations. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Paquet, a 6-1, 195 pound forward from Ste. Catherine de la, Quebec, had 6-20-26 in 47 games and 20 penalty minutes with Dayton this year. "Martin has good speed, a lot of skill and sees the ice well", said Kaminski. "He's a hard working kid who has great patience and poise with the puck."

The Ice Dogs add Paquet to the roster without losing anyone in the trade and are in the midst of trying to gain some ground in the Pacific Division standings. Long Beach currently trails Bakersfield by 8 points, and Alaska by 20 points for the fourth and final playoff spot. Paquet is expected to play tonight when the Ice Dogs take on the Alaska Aces at 7pm at the Long Beach Arena.
