Wildcatters drown Sea Wolves

Biloxi, MS (February10, 2004) – The Wildcatters traveled to Biloxi for game eight of the Nextel Cup against the Sea Wolves and the second time this year they were shutout by Mississippi. The two teams combine for 24 shots in a scoreless first period. Texas netminder Mark Scally was busy with 16 saves, including two highlight stops with his left leg pad on Andrei Lupandin in the slot.

Mississippi opened up the scoring at the 4:28 mark of the second period as Travis Lisabeth put home an Anthony Battaglia rebound. The Sea Wolves doubled their lead when Jeff Hutchins' aggressive forecheck forced a Texas turnover in front of the Wildcatters net. Hutchins netted his team leading 25th goal of the season, unassisted.

In the third the Wildcatters sent a game high10 shots on Mississippi goalie Greg Gardner but they were unable to find the back of the net. Gardner finished the night with 27 saves, earning his third shutout of the season. Scally had 36 saves in the loss for Texas.
