Blades Make Several Roster Moves

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades President/GM Craig Brush announced today that the Everblades have acquired defenseman Tim O'Connell from the Roanoke Express (ECHL) in exchange for forward Carl Mallette and defenseman Kevin Holdridge. Florida also added veteran forward Paul Vincent from the Augusta Lynx (ECHL) and sent forward Stuart Pietersma to Augusta.

O'Connell (6'4" 210 lbs.) has seen action in 39 games this season with the Express and has notched 8 goals and 14 assists and 104 penalty minutes. The Grand Forks, ND native spent four seasons at the University of North Dakota from 1996-00 and won two national NCAA championships during his collegiate career. He has seen action in the American Hockey League with the Syracuse Crunch, Rochester Americans and the Norfolk Admirals.

Vincent (6'5" 235) brings a wealth of experience and size to the Blades and is currently in his ninth professional season. He was originally selected in the sixth round by the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1993 NHL entry draft. The Utica, NY native notched 21 points in 20 games with the Lynx this season.

Both players will be in uniform when the Blades battle the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Friday night at TECO Arena.
