Ice Dogs Announce Revised 2004-05 Schedule

July 27, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The ECHL announced today the revised playing schedule for the 2004-2005 hockey season. The revision comes one week after the league announced that the Greensboro, NC and Roanoke, VA memberships were terminated by the ECHL Board of Governors.

The change does not have major affects to the Ice Dogs, who were not scheduled to play either team this season. Long Beach picks up two more games against the San Diego Gulls, a road game on December 15 that replaces the December 17 game at Las Vegas, and a home game on March 11 that was originally scheduled for Fresno. The only other change has a swap of opponents when San Diego now plays at Long Beach on January 14 and Victoria on January 15.

The Long Beach Ice Dogs will open the 2004-05 season on Friday, October 22 at home when they take on their arch rivals, the San Diego Gulls. The Ice Dogs begin the season with 11 of their first 12 games at home, including a streak of seven games, their longest of the year.

The Ice Dogs will play 30 of their 36 home games on weekend dates, including 12 Saturday nights. Four teams will be making their first trip to the Long Beach Arena, including the expansion Victoria Salmon Kings who will play in the West Division. The Greenville Grrrrowl, Pensacola Ice Pilots, and Gwinnett Gladiators will also be making first time visits.

On November 21, the 2004 Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads will be playing their first of four games in Long Beach next season. The Kelly Cup runner-up Florida Everblades will also be stopping in on November 5 and 6. The Ice Dogs will travel to the East Coast for a five-game road trip to take on the Trenton Titans, Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, and Johnstown Chiefs beginning November 23.

The Ice Dogs longest road trip of the season will be eight games, spanning from February 4th through February 20th. Friday games will start at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday games starting at 5 p.m. All other games will start at 7 p.m.

Season tickets for the 2004-2005 season are on sale now in all price ranges. Fans who pay in full by August 1st will receive an exclusive season ticket holder jersey. The Ice Dogs are also guaranteeing the playoffs or season ticket holders will receive a $50 rebate on each seat purchased. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
