Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators 2004-05 home dates were virtually unchanged as the ECHL released a revised playing schedule today following the termination of the memberships of the Greensboro Generals and Roanoke Express by the ECHL Board of Governors. A complete revised schedule follows this release.
The Gladiators will still open their sophomore season on the road on October 22nd in Augusta before making their first appearance at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on October 29th against the Augusta Lynx at 7:35 p.m.
Gwinnett will still make a five game western road trip to face Fresno, Long Beach, Bakersfield twice and San Diego in late March. It will be the first time that the Gladiators have faced each of those teams.
The Gladiators new home schedule is highlighted by a 12:30 p.m. "Businessmen's Special" day game on Martin Luther King's Birthday on January 17th when the Texas Wildcatters make their second trip to the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
The Gladiators will play 21 of their 36 home games on either Friday (13) or Saturday (8) throughout the season. In addition, five of the Gladiators remaining 15 home games will be played on Sunday afternoons. Other games of note include South Carolina visiting the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25th, Columbia will now visit the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Sunday, December 26th and Pee Dee makes a stop on Tuesday, December 28th.
Louisiana, who the Gladiators defeated to become Central Division Champions, will make three trips to the Arena at Gwinnett Center while Gwinnett will close out its home schedule against the Augusta Lynx on April 8th.
The Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators begin their second season on the road before hosting in-state rival Augusta on Friday, October 29th at 7:35 p.m. at home. In addition to having a ticket package for everyone, the Gladiators also offer group outings, suites and birthday parties. The Gladiators play all 36 home games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth and are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.
