Lafayette, LA â The Louisiana IceGators 10th anniversary season slate was announced today as the ECHL officially released the revised 2004-05 schedule. The biggest twist to the new schedule is the naming of a new Home Opener for the IceGators. On Saturday Night, November 6, Todd Gordon will make his home coaching debut as the Louisiana IceGators take on the Pensacola IcePilots in Dave Farrish's return to the Frozen Swamp. In addition to renewing rivalries with Texas and Mississippi, the IceGators will welcome four first time visitors to the Cajundome, including the first international contest in team history. Louisiana will play division foes Texas twelve times, Mississippi and Pensacola eleven times and six contests apeice against Florida and Gwinnett. Louisiana will play ten home games on Friday night and seven Saturday night affairs. There will be seven "Cheap Date Nights" on Wednesdays and seven "Sunday is Family Fun Day" contests. In addition to the usual trips to Biloxi and Beaumont, there is one very special road game, as on January 15, 2004, the IceGators will travel to San Diego for the first West Coast game in team history. Louisiana will begin the season visiting the Mississippi Seawolves on Friday night, October 22.
"We are very happy with the revised schedule," said Bruce LeVine, the IceGators Vice President of Communications. "We did not lose any of our big promotional nights and you can't ask for a better home opener than the return of Dave Farrish on a Saturday night. I'm sure that will be an emotional night to kick off our 10th Anniversary season at the Frozen Swamp."
The ECHL also revised the division alignment for 2004-05 with Augusta moving from the South Division to the East Division in the American Conference. The Kelly Cup Playoffs format will remain the same.

The IceGators will be announcing additions to the promotional schedule as they become available.
