ICE Conclude 2019 Pre-Season Schedule with Loss to Saskatoon

Saskatoon, SK - The Winnipeg ICE dropped its final game of the 2019 pre-season schedule on Saturday night, surrendering six goals in a 6-2 defeat to the Saskatoon Blades at SaskTel Centre.

Blades forward Cyle McNabb scored two goals in the game, while Nolan Kneen, Parker Malchuk, Riley McKay and Randen Schmidt added the others. Goaltender Koen MacInnes blocked 36-of-38 shots in the win.

For the ICE, Connor McClennon collected one goal and one assist. Jakin Smallwood added the other marker. Goaltender Gage Alexander played 40-minutes, stopping 14-of-18 shots. Will Gurski replaced Alexander in the final frame, blocking four-of-six shots he faced.

The Winnipeg ICE have five days off before visiting the Brandon Wheat Kings to kick off the 2019-2020 regular season on Friday, September 20. The Inaugural Winnipeg ICE Home Opener is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 against the Wheat Kings.
