Blades Jump out to Early Lead, Hang on for 4-3 Victory over ICE

Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades jumped out to an early lead and hung on for a 4-3 victory over the Winnipeg ICE at SaskTel Centre on Friday night.

The Blades scored three goals in the opening frame thanks to Colton Dach and Scott Walford. The ICE responded in the second period with goals from Cole Muir and Reece Harsch before Brandon Lisowsky restored the Blades two goal lead. Jakin Smallwood would cut into the Blades lead in the last minute of regulation, but that is as close as the ICE would get.

ICE goaltender Will Gurski stopped seven-of-10 shots in just over 32-minutes of work while Gage Alexander blocked 13-of-14 in close to 26-minutes of action. Blades goaltender Nolan Maier stopped 31-of-34 shots for the 'W'.
