Hurricanes Activate Kaberle From Injured Reserve
December 17, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Albany River Rats News Release
RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated defenseman Frantisek Kaberle from injured reserve. To clear room for Kaberle on the active roster, the Hurricanes reassigned defenseman Tim Conboy to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Kaberle, 35, has earned three assists and averaged 17:31 of ice time in seven games played this season. The Kladno, Czech Republic, native has missed the Hurricanes' last four games, and a combined 24 games this season, with a leg injury. Kaberle (6'0", 190 lbs.) has scored 28 goals and earned 160 assists (188 points) in 500 NHL regular-season games with Los Angeles, Atlanta and Carolina since the Kings drafted him in the third round, 76th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He is in his fourth season with the Hurricanes after signing with Carolina as a free agent in July 2004.
The Hurricanes wrap up a two-game home stand on Thursday as the Florida Panthers visit the RBC Center (7 p.m., FS Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network). Carolina will then embark on a four-game road swing surrounding NHL's two-day holiday break, and will return to the RBC Center on Dec. 27 to face the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Bruins. For information on Hurricanes ticket packages, call 1-866-NHL-CANES or visit www.CarolinaHurricanes.com. Single-game Hurricanes tickets for all December and January games are available at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center, CarolinaHurricanes.com, by calling 1-800-745-3000 all Ticketmaster outlets.
