In Tuesday's only AHL action, Jason Krog netted a pair of goals while Dirk Southern and Michael Grabner also scored as Manitoba took a 4-2 win over visiting Manchester... Ryan Murphy and Dusty Collins tallied goals in the loss for the Monarchs.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Surging Hartford entertains first-place Providence in an Atlantic Division matchup Wednesday night... The Wolf Pack, four points back of the Bruins, are 3-0-0-1 in their last four games and two games over the .500 mark for the first time all season... Hartford allowed just 15 shots in a 2-0 win over the B's on Dec. 10, with Miika Wiikman earning his first shutout of the year... Defenseman Jared Nightingale has three points and a plus-3 rating in four games since joining the Pack, including the winning goal vs. Providence last week... Jordan Owens has tallied two goals and four assists in Hartford's last five games... The Bruins are 1-4-0-1 in their last six road contests... Martin St. Pierre continues to lead Providence in scoring (9-22-31) and is fifth overall in the AHL in points... Rookie Brad Marchand has totaled a goal and three assists in three meetings with the Wolf Pack this season.
East Division rivals Albany and Norfolk kick off a two-game set at the Scope on Wednesday... The River Rats earned a pair of wins over the Admrials at the Times Union Center in Albany earlier this month, including an 8-1 victory on Dec. 5 that marked a team season high for goals... Captain Pat Dwyer posted a game-high four points (1-3-4) in that game for the River Rats... Mike Angelidis had three points (2-1-3) in the win but has been held scoreless in five contests since... Albany's Michael Ryan shows six points (3-3-6) over his last three outings... Jakub Petruzalek is pacing the Rats overall with 18 points (8-10-18) in 27 games... Albany has outscored opponents 27-8 in its last five victories... The Admirals are just 4-10-0-1 since posting a five-game points streak (4-0-0-1) from Nov. 7-15... Steve Downie has six assists in his last two games, and 2008 AHL All-Star Justin Keller shows three goals and four points in his last three outings... Jay Rosehill has a point in three straight games (0-3-3)... Norfolk is allowing a league-high average of 4.10 goals per game.
San Antonio looks to continue its climb in the West Division when Chicago visits the AT&T Center on Thursday night for the first of back-to-back games... The Wolves ended the Rampage's six-game winning streak with a 4-1 decision back in Rosemont on Sunday, getting three points each from Jeff Hamilton and Joe Motzko... Motzko now has at least one goal in five straight games and points in six straight (6-5-11)... Former Rampage netminder Brent Krahn made 22 saves for Chicago on Sunday in his first AHL appearance of the season... Derek Nesbitt had the only Rampage goal in the loss, his second goal in three games... Josh Tordjman, who did not play Sunday, has stopped 144 of 151 shots and posted three shutouts in his last six starts for San Antonio (6-0-0, 1.16, .954).

On Tuesday in the NHL, Washington defeated the N.Y. Islanders, 5-4 in overtime, in a battle between the head coaches of the last two AHL regular-season points champions (Bruce Boudreau, Scott Gordon)... Nigel Dawes' tiebreaking goal with 3:16 remaining lifted the N.Y. Rangers to a 3-1 win at Anaheim... Led by Troy Brouwer (2g, 1a), Colin Fraser (1g, 2a), James Wisniewski (3a) and Andrew Ladd (3a), AHL alumni accounted for eight goals and 15 assists for Chicago in a 9-2 win at Edmonton... On Monday, Teddy Purcell had a goal and an assist in Los Angeles's 3-2 shootout loss to San Jose.
