San Jose Sharks reassign forward Matt Jones to Worcester

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced that the club has reassigned forward Matt Jones to the Worcester Sharks in the AHL from the Phoenix Road Runners in the ECHL.

The 22-year-old rookie played in two games with the Phoenix Road Runners this season recording no points and two penalty minutes. Jones started the season in Worcester playing in four games with the Sharks recording one point (1-0-1) along with 2 penalty minutes and a -2 rating. He had missed 18 games due to injury.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Kentwood, Michigan native spent last season with at Merrimack College appearing in 34 games recoding 22 points (15-7-22) along with 60 penalty minutes. He also played in Worcester last season, registering 3 points (2-1-3) in 7 games.
