Hodges Named to All-Star Team

AKRON, OH - Aeros third baseman Wes Hodges was named to the Eastern League All-Star team today, the only Akron player to be so honored.

A fixture at the hot corner throughout this season, Hodges is hitting .280 with 13 home runs and 87 RBI. He tied for the team lead in home runs, ranks second in the league in RBI, and is tied for eighth on the circuit with 130 hits. He was also named to the Southern Division roster for the annual All-Star game, played for the U.S. team in the Futures Game at Yankee Stadium, and was named as the Bank of America Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending June 15th.

A second-round selection in 2006 out of Georgia Tech, the native of Chattanooga, TN spent his first pro season in Kinston last year, hitting .288 with 15 home runs and 71 RBI while also making the Carolina League All-Star team.

The Aeros conclude their three-game series with the Connecticut Defenders at 6:35 p.m. this evening, with nine-game winner Frank Herrmann (9-6, 4.18 ERA) going for Akron against Connecticut's Dave McKae (7-7, 4.45 ERA).
