Heat Shutout Monsters 1-0
Published on December 8, 2010 under American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release
ABBOTSFORD BC - Leland Irving would have another strong night between the pipes turning aside all 23 Lake Erie shots in a 1-0 win for his second shut out of the season and league leading 13th win.
Matt Pelech in his second game back since suffering an injury on October 25th would get the lone goal of the game on his first of the year ripping a shot from the right face off circle that would just bounce in off the back of Bacashiua.
The Abbotsford Heat came out firing Wednesday night racking up 34 shots on a busy Lake Erie goaltender Jason Bacashihua.
With the win, the Heat leapfrog the Monsters and move into a second place tie with the Toronto Marlies, just one point back of the Hamilton Bulldogs for first in the AHL's hotly contested North Division
The Abbotsford Heat will return to the rink this Friday to take on the Atlanta Thrashers affiliate Chicago Wolves this Friday and Saturday at the AESC, puck drop at 7 pm.
