Klinkhammer and Morin Summoned by the Blackhawks, IceHogs Try to Snap Skid

Chicago, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Wednesday that the National Hockey League club has recalled forwards Rob Klinkhammer and Jeremy Morin from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Klinkhammer earns his first career NHL recall. The Lethbridge, Alberta native has appeared in 20 games for Rockford this season and has notched three goals and six assists.

The 24-year-old forward is in his fourth season and third in Rockford. Klinkhammer ranks fifth all-time on Rockford's games played list during the club's AHL era, appearing in 165 games with the IceHogs. The winger began his career with the Norfolk Admirals during the 2007-08 season.

Morin receives his third recall of the season. In five games with Chicago the 19-year-old center has an assist. In 17 games with Rockford, Morin is tied for the team lead with six goals to go along with three assists.

The Auburn, New York native was named to the U.S. National Team's World Junior Championship pre-tournament team on Tuesday.

With the recall of Klinkhammer, Chicago has recalled seven different players from the IceHogs including Morin, Evan Brophey, Jassen Cullimore, Brandon Pirri, Ryan Potulny and Ben Smith. Chicago plays host to the Dallas Stars tonight at the United Center.

ICEHOGS TRY TO SNAP SKID AGAINST THE STARS

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs look to keep momentum going as they host the Texas Stars to open a season-long seven-game home stand on Wednesday night at the Rockford MetroCentre.

The IceHogs are coming off a week in which they took three-of-four points at the Toyota Center in Houston against Aeros.

Taco Bell Dollar days continue on Wednesday as fans can enjoy $1 beers, Vienna Beef hot dogs, sodas and companion tickets thanks to Taco Bell and WXRX.

Fans can purchase 10-ounce Bud Selects exclusively at the Bud Select Deck located in front of Oink Outfitters for a dollar, on the MetroCentre concourse during all Wednesday home games.

The matchup with the Stars has proved to be a tough one for the IceHogs. Texas took the only meeting so far in 2010-11 against the IceHogs, winning in a shootout 4-3 on Oct. 27, at the MetroCentre. In 2009-10, the Hogs were 2-4-2-0 against Texas, including 0-3-1-0 at home.

Tonight's game can be heard on 1330 AM, WNTA, 1380 AM, WTJK and wnta.com beginning at 6:05 p.m. with the U.S. Cellular Pregame Show. The game can also be seen on Comcast Cable Channel 57.

Next Home Game: Friday, Dec. 10 vs. Milwaukee Admirals: Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs host the Admirals at the MetroCentre for the first time in 2010-11. The game is the second of ten meetings on the campaign.
