The Springfield Falcons have used some late game rallies against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this year, but on Wednesday night it was Bridgeport returning the favor as the Sound Tigers scored three third period goals on their way to a 5-3 win over the Falcons. The Falcons will now get ready for a home and home series this weekend against the Providence Bruins starting on Saturday.

The Falcons carried the lead for most of the night and Springfield had a 3-2 advantage heading into the third period. The Sound Tigers would take their first lead of the night at 16:52 of the final frame when Josh Bailey scored on the power play giving the Tigers a 4-3 advantage. Tomas Marcinko added his second goal of the game into an empty net in the final minute of regulation ending Bridgeport's comeback victory.

For the second straight game, Mike Blunden opened the scoring for Springfield in the first period as he netted his 11th marker of the campaign at 9:07 of the opening frame. Marcinko would tie the score at 10:21 of the first period when he tallied his first goal of the night, but with two seconds remaining in the first period, Jonathan Sigalet's shot from the left point found the back of the net and gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second period, Bridgeport's Rhett Rakhshani evened the score at 2-2 when he converted on the power play at 5:16, but Springfield regained their lead at 6:51 of the middle frame when Dane Byers tipped in a Nick Holden shot from the point.
