The Norfolk Admirals have signed forward Pierre-Cedric Labrie ("PEE-air SEHD-rihk lah-BREE") to a two-year Standard Player's Contract (SPC), Admirals General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Labrie, 6-2, 212 pounds, has appeared in 18 games with the Admirals this season after signing a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO) on October 14, 2010. He has posted three goals and nine points with a plus-6 rating. Labrie leads the Admirals with 62 penalty minutes.

Labrie is a four-year veteran of the American Hockey League. He split the 2009-10 season between the Manitoba Moose and Peoria Rivermen. Labrie appeared in 45 games for the Moose, recording five goals and six points with 69 penalty minutes. On March 3, Manitoba's parent club, the Vancouver Canucks, traded Labrie to the St. Louis Blues organization in exchange for forward Yan Stastny. Labrie then reported to St. Louis' AHL affiliate in Peoria, recording one assist in 16 games with 16 penalty minutes.

The 23-year-old from Baie-Comeau, Québec, has appeared in 209 career AHL games, posting 21 goals and 49 points with 334 penalty minutes between Norfolk, Peoria and Manitoba. Prior to turning pro, the undrafted left wing spent one season with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League, posting 35 goals and 63 points with 113 penalty minutes in 68 regular season games. He then posted eight goals and 14 points with 35 penalty minutes in only 11 playoff games.

The Admirals will play host to the Syracuse Crunch tonight in another Admirals value night at Scope. Game time is 7:15 p.m.

Family Fun Packs are presented by SunTrust. Fans can enjoy four Red Level tickets, four hot dogs, four popcorns, and four sodas for only $48.
