March 29, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release
STOCKTON, CALIF. - The Heat stumbled in their return home as a big second period for Cleveland helped lead the Monsters to a 6-0 win on Wednesday night inside Stockton Arena. After a scoreless first period, Cleveland jumped all over the Heat, capturing a 3-0 lead in the first 9:29 seconds of the second period and would then add two more in the second half of the period to take a large lead into the third period and end the night for Heat goalie David Rittich. Stockton would turn to young Nick Schneider in the third period, his first professional game since the regular season finale for the Heat back in April 2016 but unfortunately for the Heat, the road team would add another in the third and complete the 6-0 victory. Cleveland goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks would record his first pro shutout in the win, stopping 28 shots. The Heat take to the road for a big trip through the Lone Star State starting on Friday in San Antonio at 5:30 p.m. PST and again the following night at 5:00 p.m. PST. Then it's off to Austin where the Heat battle the Texas Stars in a pivotal matchup on Wednesday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. PST.
