Bibeau Named Barracuda 2017-18 IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year

San Jose, Ca. - The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda) are proud to announce that Antoine Bibeau has been named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year (@TheAHL) award for his outstanding contributions to the San Jose community during the 2017-18 season.

In his first year in San Jose, Antoine Bibeau has whole heartily embraced his new community and has continuously given his time in various off-ice ventures. Aside from being named an AHL mid-season All-Star, Bibeau has become an instant fan favorite off the ice as well. Whether he is going on school visits teaching kids the game of hockey, helping out the San Jose Jr. Sharks, or taking the time to greet and interact with fans at various events, Bibeau has continuously had a positive attitude along with a great deal of gratitude and humility.

Antoine's biggest contributions this season came after the Barracuda hosted their annual Teddy Bear Toss game, and the 23-year-old netminder along with a pair of his teammates handed bears out to kids at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara.

In his one season with the Barracuda, Bibeau has participated in many community service projects, including Barracuda Math Class, youth hockey camps, fan-related events, hospital visits, and much more.

In 2016, San Jose's Ryan Carpenter was named Yanick Dupre Memorial Award winner for his contributions to the San Jose Community after being named the teams IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year.

Antoine Bibeau is now one of 30 finalists for the AHL's 2017-18 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced by the American Hockey League at a later date.
