
Moose Sign Woods, Reassign Phinney

Winnipeg, MB - The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club announced today the team has signed defenceman Justin Woods to a professional tryout agreement, and reassigned goaltender Colton Phinney to the Indy Fuel (ECHL).
Woods, 24, recently finished his fourth season playing for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks where he totaled 47 points (18G, 29A) and 105 penalty minutes in 133 games. Woods captained the Nanooks this season while posting 20 points (9G, 11A) in 36 games. Following the conclusion of his collegiate season, the Fairbanks, AK native joined the Jacksonville Icemen where he has seven points (3G, 4A) in eight games.
Phinney, 24, made his AHL debut with the Moose on March 17, making 14 saves in 34 minutes. Phinney owns a 5-8-2 record with a 3.29 goals against average and a 0.888 save percentage in 22 appearances split between Indy and Jacksonville this season. Prior to his professional career, the Chatham, N.J. native spent four seasons at Princeton University where he played in 110 games, compiling a record of 27-74-9 with a 3.10 goals against average and 0.912 save percentage.
The Moose host the Toronto Marlies for a pair of games on Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m.). Tickets for both games are available at moosehockey.com/tickets.
