Heat Add Pair of Players from ECHL to Roster

STOCKTON, CALIF. - The Stockton Heat, proud AHL affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames, announced the team has added veteran forward Brodie Dupont and rookie defenseman Cliff Watson to the roster on pro tryouts.

Dupont, 31, has suited up in over 500 pro games in North America and Europe, including 385 AHL games played within the New York Rangers organization, the Milwaukee Admirals and the Bakersfield Condors. This year, Dupont has spent the entire season captaining the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL and has put up 21 goals and 68 points, ranking in the top five of the ECHL in scoring.

Watson, 24, is in his first season pro after spending the last four seasons at Michigan Tech, including captaining the squad the last two seasons and helping the team win a WCHA Championship in 2016-17. An invitee to the Stockton Heat training camp this past season, Watson began has spent the bulk of the year in the ECHL with the Utah Grizzlies and the Colorado Eagles while also receiving two AHL call-ups, one with the Utica Comets back in December and another with the San Jose Barracuda in February.
