(Pawtucket, RI) Shawn Haviland tossed six shutout innings and the Pawtucket Red Sox secured a series win with a 2-0 win over the Scranton RailRiders on Tuesday night at McCoy Stadium. Haviland struck out four, the last of which helped him escape a sixth-inning jam and the PawSox defeat the 'Riders for the second straight night.

The PawSox made Scranton starter Brady Lail pay for a pair of walks in the bottom of the fourth inning. Chris Marrero drove home the first run with a one-out single and Humberto Quintero doubled the lead with a two-out hit to right.

Haviland pitched out of trouble in the first and sixth innings; in the opening frame, Ben Gamel led off the game with a double. After Haviland struck out Slad Heathcott, he hit Jose Pirela with a pitch. But the righthander then retired Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge to extinguish the threat.

The 'Riders opened the sixth with consecutive singles before Haviland induced a double play and struck out Judge.

Jorge Marban kept Scranton off the board in the seventh and eighth innings before Noe Ramirez shut the door in the ninth for his second save.

The PawSox close the homestand at McCoy tomorrow night at 7:05. Righthander Zeke Spruill (4-9, 4.20) goes for Pawtucket. Radio coverage will begin on WHJJ and online at 6:50.

Good seats are available; call 401-724-7300 or visit the PawSox online at www.pawsox.com to get them now.
