Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the second game of a three-game series at Coca-Cola Park (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons have lost three in a row and are now an even .500 on the season at 65-65. Following tomorrow's game, the Herd returns home for the final seven home games of the 2015 season.

vs. the IronPigs

The Bisons are 9-7 against the IronPigs this year. Buffalo needs just one more victory to clinch the season series against Lehigh Valley. However, the Herd is just 2-7 against the IronPigs after starting the year 7-0 against the IL North division rivals.

Chad Jenkins

RHP CHAD JENKINS makes his ninth start and 39th appearance this season. The righty threw two shutout innings in relief last Friday and tossed five shutout to win his last start, August 15 in Syracuse. Jenkins is 4-0 with a 1.33 ERA in 16 outings away from Coca-Cola Field this year. He has also allowed just one run in 14.2 innings (0.61 ERA) to Lehigh Valley this season with 11 strikeouts to only three walks.

MattVP

INF MATT HAGUE picked up right where he left off in his return to the Bisons last night with two hits and two RBI. Hague now has a league-best 85 RBI, the same number of runs driven in that INF Jhonny Peralta had in his IL MVP campaign in 2004. Hague also leads the IL in average (.349), hits (163), on-base pct. (.429) and slugging pct. (.482). Hague has hit .423 (22-52) with 16 RBI in 15 games against the IronPigs.

Ben Rowen

RHP BEN ROWEN has made nine scoreless appearances for the Herd since the Blue Jays claimed the righty off waivers (Cubs) on August 3. In 11.1 innings, Rowen has allowed eight hits and walk while striking out seven. All eight hits he has allowed have been singles.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons have been involved in 29 shutouts (12-17), five more than any other team and 22% of their 130 games thus far...The Bisons rank 2nd in the IL in both most walks drawn (457) and fewest strikeouts (787)...RHP RYAN TEPERA has posted a 1.13 ERA in 19 outings for the Bisons this year, allowing just a .131 average against.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (69-55) and Yankees have identical records with 38 games left in the 2015 season. Toronto is in Texas tonight with Mark Buehrle on the hill for a 8:05 p.m. first pitch. The Blue Jays are coming off a three-game sweep of the Angels and are 19-4 in their last 23 games.
