Blue Jays Claim RHP Donn Roach off Waivers from Cincinnati

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have claimed RHP DONN ROACH off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds.

Roach, 25, was designated by the Reds on Sunday after going 2-4 with a 6.00 ERA in seven starts for the Louisville Bats (42.0 IP, 57 H, 18 SO). The righty began the season in the Cubs system and went 7-2 with a 2.33 ERA in 15 starts for Triple-A Iowa before getting a one-game promotion to Chicago in late June. He was then designated and claimed by the Reds on July 13.

Originally drafted by the Angels in the 3rd round of the 2010 amateur draft, Roach made his MLB debut with the Padres in 2014, going 1-0 with a 4.75 ERA in 16 games and one start (30.1 IP, 36 H, 17 SO).
