
Guite Leads P-Bruins to Victory

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins won their first game of the weekend 4-1 over the Norfolk Admirals in front of 8,711 fans at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday night. Ben Guite had a goal and an assist for the Bruins, including the game-winner, while Tyler Redenbach had a three-point night, including an empty net goal.
Norfolk took a 1-0 lead at the 9:55 mark of the first period, when former P-Bruin Carl Corazzini scored his first power play goal of the season. The Bruins wasted no time tying the game at one when Chris Dyment blasted a shot past Admiral goaltender Corey Crawford on the power play. Gutie and Redenbach had the assists. With Providence back on the power play Jonathan Sigalet took a shot from the blue line, which was tipped in by Guite. Ben Walter had the second assist as the Bruins went into the first intermission up 2-1.
Providence scored their third straight power play goal 2:52 into the second period when Redenbach fed Nathan Robinson for his fourth goal of the season. Zdenek Blatny also had an assist as the Bruins took a 3-1 lead.
Late in the third period, with Crawford pulled from net, Redenbach scored an empty net goal to secure the Bruins a 4-1 victory. Blatny earned his second assist of the night giving him 100 points on his career.
For the Bruins, Tim Thomas stopped 27 of 28 shots to earn his second victory of the season, while Crawford stopped 24 of 27 for the Admirals. Providence finished the night 3 for 7 on the man advantage, while Norfolk was 1 for 6 on the power play.
The Black and Gold are back in action Saturday, November 5 at the Hartford Civic Center to take on the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 6 when they face the Portland Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center beginning at 4:05 p.m. The Bruins return home to host the Manchester Monarchs on Friday, November 18 at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available online at providencebruins.com, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office and at all TicketMaster outlets.
