Sharks recalled Bernier from Barons

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled right wing Steve Bernier from the Cleveland Barons.

In nine games with the Barons this season, the Quebec City, Quebec native has earned 10 points (4-6-10). He currently leads the Barons in points (4-6-10), goals (4), assists (6), game-winning goals (2), and shooting percentage (26.7).

Bernier began his season with a seven-game point streak, setting new franchise records for consecutive point streak to begin a season and for rookie point streak to begin a career.

The San Jose Sharks drafted the 6-2, 230-pound right wing in the first round (16th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The Sharks play tonight in Anaheim.

The Barons will return to National City Rink located in The Q on Sunday, November 6 against the Syracuse Crunch at 5:05pm.
