Grrrowl Suffer First Pre-Season Loss

GREENVILLE, SC: The Greenville Grrrowl suffered a 2-1 shootout loss to the South Carolina Stingrays Friday night at the Bi-Lo Center. The Stingrays got on the board first with an even strength goal from Kelly Sleix at 5:44 of the first period. The Grrrowl evened the score on at goal by STACY BAUMAN at 7:29 of the second period. The shootout went to seven skaters before Andy Power slipped a goal passed SCOTT KABOTOFF for the win.

2nd Period G – Bauman (Deis, Forte)

3rd Period NO SCORE

Andy Powers scored the winning goal in the shootout. South Carolina outscored the Grrrowl 2-1 in the shootout.

Greenville Goalie Stats Gilhooly (9-10) 29:47 min. Kabotoff (14-14) 35:13 min.

The Greenville Grrrowl host the Charlotte Checkers and the Greensboro Generals tomorrow at the 2nd Annual Dog Day Scrimmage.
