
IceGators set Military Appreciation Night

Lafayette, LA â The Louisiana IceGators will host Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, Nov. 9, when they take on the Columbus Cottonmouths at the Cajundome at 4:05 p.m.
Activists, reservists and veterans of all military branches and their families will receive special discounts with a valid military i.d. Starting November 1, military personnel can present their military i.d. at the Cajundome box office for $2 off the window price. In addition, group tickets can be purchased in advance through the IceGators office at 234-4423 with a special offer of buy one ticket, get one free. The special group ticket deadline is November 1.
"We are proud to host Military Appreciation Night," said IceGators general manager Brian Kelley. "Being two days before Veterans Day, this is our best chance for Acadiana to show how much we support our military. With thousands of our servicemen and women abroad, this is a tremendous opportunity for the community to come together and say thank you to those that defend our country today and to recognize those who have defended this country in the past."
The IceGators are also planning several activities at the game, such as having a place to drop off letters for military personnel.
Louisiana opens the season at Mississippi on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7:35 p.m., before the Sea Wolves make a return trip for the IceGators' home opener Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7:05 p.m. Individual tickets, starting at just $10 for adults and $9 for kids (ages 2-12 in any level) are now on sale at the Cajundome Box Office and Ticketmaster outlets. Opening Night will feature a Chris Valicevic jersey retirement ceremony. Full season ticket packages, half season plans and Ice Packs are also on sale now and can be purchased by calling (337) 234-4423. Full season packages start at just $288, while children ages 4-12 can have season tickets for only $225 in any level, including rink side, with an adult purchase.
