Bullies Continue To Hit Jackpot in Maine

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL have acquired forward Jim Leger from Johnstown in excange for cash considerations, and have signed him to a contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Leger will make his Bullies debut tonight when the team travles to Reading to face the Royals at 7:05PM.

Leger, 27, split last season between Johnstown and Dayton tallying 19 goals and 15 assists in 45 games. He also received a three game call-up to Lowell of the American Hockey League at the beginning of the season. The fourth-year professsional has spent parts of the last three seasons with the Johnstown Chiefs. His best season came in 2001-02 when he notched 20 goals and 17 assists in 59 games.

"Jim is a hard worker," said Head Coach Mike Haviland. "He's a balanced player with a scoring touch that will compliment the rest of our line-up.

Leger, a native of Saugus, MA, becomes the third ex-Maine Black Bear to join the Bullies organization along with Assistant Coach Matt Thomas and Equipment Manager Josh MacDonald.

Atlantic City will host their lone pre-season game on Sunday against Reading at the Red Bank Armory in Red Bank, NJ. Game time is 2:05PM and tickets are available by calling the Red Bank Armory at (732) 450-9001.

The defending ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Boardwalk Bullies open Season Three against the Texas Wildcatters on Friday, October 17, at Boardwalk Hall.
