
Grrrowl bite Gladiators, 4-1

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Greenville Grrowl used three goals within in the final five minutes of the third period to get past the Gladiators 4-1 on Friday night at the Arena at Gwinett Center. The game was John Marks' 878th ECHL game coached, tying John Brophy's ECHL record for most games coached.
The Gladiators and Grrrowl skated to a scoreless tie through the first 20 minutes. Gwinnett doubled up on the Grrowl in the first period outshooting Greenville by a 10-5 margin.
Greenville took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal by Cody Blanshan 6:19 into the second period. Blanshan beat Gladiators netminder Sean Fields on a slapshot from the point for the tally. Colin Pepperall and Brock Radunske picked up the assists on the goal.
Troy Milam tied the game a 1-1 with his 5th goal of the season late in the second period. Taking a feed from Milan Gajic just inside the blue line, Milam danced into the Greenville zone and beat Grrrowl netminder Mike Morrison with just 16 seconds left in the period. Guillaume Desbiens also picked up a helper on the tally.
Greenville snapped the 1-1 tie at the 15:13 mark of the third on a goal by Rory McMahon. Taking a pass behind the net from Jan Vodrazka, McMahon walked out into the slot and beat Fields to the far post for the goal. John Snowden also had an assist on the tally.
Trailing by one, Gwinnett took a penalty with 2:13 left in the third. Greenville capitalized with a power goal by Duncan Dalmao with just 1:19 left in the third. A Dalmao slapshot off a feed from Allan Sirois just inside the blue line beat Fields for the tally. Les Haggett added an assist on the goal.
Gwinnett pulled Fields looking for an advantage with an extra attacker but ended up giving up an empty net goal to round out the scoring. Brock Radunske picked up the marker with just 20 seconds left in the third off an assist from Jan Vodrazka.
Sean Fields made 19 saves in the loss while the Gladiators were held off the board on the man advantage in four tries. Gwinnett falls to 21-8-5 with the loss.
The Gladiators host the Charlotte Checkers in Gwinnett's 3rd annual teddy bear toss on Saturday, January 14th at 7:35 p.m. Bring a teddy bear to the game and toss it onto the ice following the Gladiators first goal. All teddy bears will be collected and donated to local area charities.
