Johnstown Chiefs News Release

The Johnstown Chiefs again fell to the Reading Royals, 4-3.

The Chiefs overcame a few bad breaks in the first period, to tie the game at two. Justin Kelly and Joe Tallari potted first period goals to erase Royal leads.

A relentless forecheck from forwards such as Brett Peterson, kept the Royals on their heels through much of the 2nd period. The Chief would manage just one tally, thanks to superb goaltending from Reading's Futaka Fukufuji. Gerard Dicaire scored on a high-slot wrister, assisted by Justin Kelly. It was Dicaire's third point of the night, as he also assisted on both first period goals.

However, as has been the case, the Royals managed to capitalize in the third period. The Royals buried two chances one minute and twenty three seconds apart. Doug Christiansen and Grant Jacobson each banged home chances in front. The Royals did not look back.

The Chiefs fall back to .500 at 14-14-8. The Chiefs will host the Toledo Storm, Saturday. Tickets are on sale, 1-800-slapshot.
