Sea Wolves Mourn Loss of Former Coach Potvin

BILOXI, Miss. - Former Mississippi Sea Wolves head coach and director of hockey operations Marc Potvin has died at the age of 38.

The Mississippi Sea Wolves organization is deeply saddened. Thoughts and prayers are with the Potvin family.

In 1999-00, Potvin led the Sea Wolves in his one and only season with the team to a 35-27-8 regular season record and a Southern Conference Wild Card series playoff win over Pensacola, 2 games to 1, before losing to Louisiana in the Southern Conference Quarterfinals, 3 games to 1.

In the summer of 2000, Potvin was promoted and spent two seasons as the head coach of the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

He was in his second season as head coach and director of hockey operations for the Adirondack Frostbite of the United Hockey League in Glens Falls, New York.

Potvin also played 121 games as a forward in the National Hockey League with Detroit, Los Angeles, Hartford and Boston, and was part of the Kings' 1993 Stanley Cup runner-up team.
