Grizzlies Win 3-2 In Victoria

Victoria, British Columbia - The Utah Grizzlies improved to 3-2 with a 3-2 win over the Victoria Salmon Kings Friday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Evan Kotsopoulos scored two goals for Utah while goaltender Mike Mole stopped 30 of 32 Victoria shots to improve to 1-2.

The Grizzlies scored three goals in the second period after falling behind 1-0 in the first. Kotsopoulos tied the game at one 7:25 into the period knocking in a rebound on a Ryan Kinasewich shot with Andy Sertich picking up an assist as well. The Grizzlies took a 2-1 lead just over three minutes later at 10:38; five seconds into a four-on-four situation. Jordan Hart found James Sanford in the high-slot who threw a puck towards the net with James Sixsmith redirecting it home for his second of the year.

Utah took a 3-1 lead at 18:09 of the second period on Evan Kotsopoulos' second of the game as he took a centering attempt from Brandon Scero. Tom May picked up the second assist.

Victoria made it 3-2 1:01 into the third period and that would be the final score.

Utah outshot Victoria 12-8 in the third to preserve the lead.

The Grizzlies complete their three-game series in Victoria Saturday at 8:05 p.m.

Utah returns to the E-Center Wednesday, November 5; Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 to host Ontario with all three games starting at 7:05 p.m.
