November 1, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

Victoria, BC - On Halloween night the Victoria Salmon Kings met the Utah Grizzlies for the second game of their three-game set. Goaltender Todd Ford started in net for the Kings while the Grizzlies countered with Mike Mole.

The Salmon Kings struck first with a walk in goal from Olivier Labelle. It was Labelle's fifth goal in eight regular season games. The game was 1-0 in favour of the Salmon Kings after the first period.

The second period saw the Grizzlies come out flying with three unanswered goals. Evan Kotsopoulos scored first on a rebound after a nice passing play between Ryan Kinasewich and Andy Sertich. James Sanford then scored during 4-4 play with a low slap shot from the point of a face-off win. Kotsopoulos notched his second of the night when he fired a shot past Ford's shoulder from the slot. The score was 3-1 Grizzlies after 40 minutes.

The Salmon Kings clicked early in the third when Labelle put the puck in an empty net from a Dylan Yeo pass from the point just 1:01 into the third. It was Labelle's second goal of the game and also a power play marker. That would be as close as the Kings would come. Grizzlies 3 Salmon Kings 2.

Victoria went 1/6=16.7% on the power play and Stockton ended 0/2=0%. The Grizzlies out shot the Salmon Kings 34-32.

The three game set finishes on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at the Select Your Tickets box office at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, by calling 250-220-7777 or by visiting www.selectyourtickets.com. Get hooked on Salmon Kings hockey!
