Bombers Fall In Shootout to Cincinnati 5-4

FAIRBORN, Ohio -- The Dayton Bombers had chances but in the end, fall 5-4 in a shootout to the Cincinnati Cyclones Saturday night before 4042 fans at the Nutter Center.

Dayton fell behind early 2-0 on goals by the Cyclones' Mitch Woods (3:36 of the period) and Olivier Latendresse ((7:58). They came back with a pair of power play goals by Jarret Lukin (at 16:47 from Dan Riedel and Ryan Smyth) and Greg Labenski (at 10:41 from Justin Bowers) to tie it 2-2 after one.

The Cyclones' Steve Makway has the only second period goal coming at the 17:48 mark with assists to Ben McLeod and Joe Ryan.

The Bombers tied the game at 1:40 of the third as new acqusition Tom Zanoski scored with assists to Jamie Dowhayko and Justin Bowers. Dayton tallied another goal at 3:23 of the period as Dominic D'Amour gave the Bombers their only lead of the game with assists to Greg Labenski and Jarret Lukin.They held that advantage until the 14:41 mark when Cincinnati's Kyle Rank tied the game 4-4 with an assist to Mike Nesdill.

After a scoreless five minute overtime, Cincinnati outduel the Bombers 3-1 in the shootout, with goals by Thomas Beauregard, Mark Van Gilder and Steve Makway. Dayton's lone shootout goal was by Justin Bowers in the first round. The Bombers had a 53-27 shots-on-goal advantage for the game. Dayton is now 3-1-1-0 while Cincinnati moves to 2-3-1-0.

The Bombers finish the home stand Sunday, November 2nd with Johnstown at the Nutter Center featuring a Halloween Costume Parade and a post-game skate.
